Shelter, Pool and Other Facility Rentals
The City of Parkersburg is home to several parks and recreation facilities that enhance our community. To ensure these facilities are used as intended and open to as many of our residents as possible, the City has established rental policies and procedures. For information on which facilities are available to reserve, associated fees, and policies, please review the sections below. All fees and rental rates include taxes.
City Park and Southwood Shelters
Shelters at City Park and Southwood Park are available to be reserved for a fee of $25.00 per day. When not rented, the shelters are on a first come first serve basis. Shelters at all other parks cannot be reserved, and are first come first serve. (For Fort Boreman Shelter Rentals, please visit the Fort Boreman Shelter page on the Wood County website.)
Effective October 16, 2023, shelter rentals will be processed via online reservations and must be paid for at the time the reservation is made. If you are unable to use our online system, you may call or visit our Parks Department to make other arrangements. However, no rentals will be guaranteed until payment is received. Reservations made in person or via phone prior to October 16th will be honored.
City Park Pavilion, Horseshoe Pit, and Bandshell
The Horseshoe Pit and Bandshell may be reserved at no cost to the user, however, a rental agreement is required. To inquire about availability and/or to make a reservation, please contact the City of Parkersburg Parks and Recreation Department: (304) 424- 8572 during the following hours:
Monday - Friday: 7:00AM – 11:00AM and 12:00PM -3:00PM
The City Park Pavilion is also available for rentals at this time; however, this is subject to change. At this time, online reservations are not available. Pavilion Non-Commercial Rates:
(Prior to 6pm) $20.00 / HR
(After 6pm) $25.00 / HR
All day rate $150.00
Pavilion Commercial Rates:
(Prior to 6pm) $25.00 / HR
(After 6pm) $30.00 / HR
All day rate $200.00
City Park Pool, Southwood Pool and Southwood Waterslide
The 2024 pool season will begin on May 25, 2024, including the opening of the brand-new Southwood Pool!

Baseball Fields
The ball fields at City Park and Southwood Park can be reserved. To reserve, you must sign a user agreement and provide proof of $1,000,000.00 liability insurance.
Ball Field Rates:
Bennett Stump Baseball Field at City Park: $25.00 /game
Southwood Softball Field: No charge
