Parks & Recreation
The Parks and Recreation Department for the City of Parkersburg maintains community parks and recreational areas throughout the city. With nine public parks and recreational areas that can host festivals, events, and community gatherings, getting together with family, friends, and neighbors is pretty simple. In addition to maintaining almost 125 acres of land, the department also prepares and maintains park facilities and equipment at each park location, as well as maintaining all other city-owned property.
The city boasts two public swimming pools, a splash pad, a waterslide, and a skate park. In addition, a network of walking and bike trails provides additional outdoor recreation venues.
