2023 Pool Season a Big Success!

The City Park Pool and Splash Pad had another successful season in 2023.

Average daily attendance for the season was 338; total attendance was 21,207 for the time frame of Memorial Day-Labor Day.

There were 10,140 children between the ages of 3-17 who were able to enjoy the facility.

“I am very pleased with our attendance and use this summer; I want to particularly thank the city council for their continued support of our parks across the board; and I especially want to thank Public Works Director Everett Shears; City Engineer Adam Stout and Parks Supervisor Doug “Farmer” Kinney and the Parks  Certified Pool Operators for their daily maintenance efforts, prompt repairs when necessary and continued dedication in all they do. “-Tom Joyce, Mayor of Parkersburg

The Schools to Pools program saw 95 qualified youth receive a free pool pass for this season.

Completion of the Southwood Pool remodel is progressing well and the City fully anticipates being up and running for the Summer of 2024. There were some hiccups with procurement and supply chain issues , but we applaud Grae-Con and Pickering for their consistent communication and openness with regards to what, for the City of Parkersburg, is a generational improvement to our Parks system and infrastructure.
